FREE BBQ at 12:00pm – Canatara Park provided by Rotary Club of Sarnia-Lambton After Hours Parks & Recreation staff will be leading the Community Clean-Up!

Importance of Registering?

Registering your park and crew will ensure City staff provides the necessary supplies and garbage removal for your Park Clean-Up. Gloves, garbage bags, paint, rakes, safety information and first aid kits will be provided. Registering also ensures efforts are not being duplicated. Registering also will invite you to a FREE Community BBQ which will take place between the hours of Noon – 12:30pm at Canatara Park following the Clean –Up.

Why get involved in the Community Park Clean-Up Program:

Through the Change the World: Ontario Youth Volunteer Challenge, high school students are able to register their volunteer hours and will be recognised for their participation with a certificate from Sarnia Gives.

It’s your Parks, places, and spaces! This program is a great way to clean-up and rejuvenate our Parks and neighborhood, while raising environmental awareness, meeting our neighbors, enjoying the outdoors all through active participation.

Parks & Recreation Staff will also be Onsite at Canatara Park and available to educate neighborhood groups on our “New Playground” Initiative and how your neighborhood committee can get involved and have a new Playground built in your neighborhood park. NOVA Chemicals will be supplying clean-up kits containing garbage bags, recycling bags, gloves and first-aid packs.

A small act for a short time can have a large physical impact and they may help participants develop a sense of their influence on their environment.
