Organization: Victim Services of Sarnia-Lambton
Mission: Victim Services of Sarnia Lambton, Inc. is a non-profit community based organization working in co-operation with local emergency service providers and other related community services to meet the short-term needs of victims of crime and tragic circumstances by providing emotional support, practical assistance and referrals to community resources.
Focus: Victim Services provides immediate emotional and practical assistance to all victims of crime and tragic circumstance, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week throughout Sarnia - Lambton. Our primary goal is to help immediately, 24 hours a day, right at the time of the crisis and then act as a bridge to other community services which can provide long term support. Assistance is provided free of charge by trained Crisis Responders in cooperation with local police, fire and hospitals.
Activities: Victim Services helps victims and their families involved in domestic or sexual assult, break & enter crimes, robbery trauma, theft or disaster, elder abuse, suicide, dating violence and other tragic circumstances. They assist over 2,000 victims of crime and tragic circumstance every year. Victim Services volunteers donate 30,000 hours each year to ensure that no victim is alone when tragedy strikes.
