Name:  Don MacDonald

Organization:  Pathways Health Centre for Children

Number of Years Volunteering: 5

Activities:  Don has been involved with many fundraising events, such as helping out with the Festival of Trees -  loading the trailer for set-up and take-down; tickets sales; the Rotary Club's Mackinac Breakfast; RBC's golf tournament; etc.

Annette Urban, Volunteer Coordinator for Pathways, says "He is best known as our resident "BBQ'er" - at the Sarnia Street Machines "Cruise in the Park" and "Hot August Nights"; for the Friday Night Junction's Bake Sale; and the "Go Girl" day camp.  He is indespensable and we truly appreciate his willingness to do whatever we ask!"

How it all started: "I was at the Cruise in the Park car show and heard one of the BBQ volunteers say that she needed some supplies from the store.  I said my car was first in the line and that I would go and get them. I just kept coming back after that"

Tips for Volunteers: Find an organization that your comfortable with and be ready for what you will need to do.

"If I can put a smile on a childs face than that's a good day.  I get the chance to meet so many great people and it's a great way to give back to the community."

Thank you Don for all you do in our community!

The Volunteer of the Month is presented by Starbucks Canada Store 4772 in Sarnia, located at 1273 London Rd.
